DEWORMING

We use Earth’s Answers, NO MORE DOG WORMS- to deworm our dogs.

Another good one we use is Earth MD D.E. Plus - https://www.earthmd.ca/products/de-plus

Ground, raw pumpkin seeds, food-grade diatomaceous earth and Black Walnut are also very affective in the deworming process.  Taken internally, this combination can rid dogs of roundworms, whipworms, pinworms, hookworms and tapeworms, within a week of daily feeding

Flea & Tick prevention:

I highly suggest using Earth M.D. Outdoor Shield in your pup’s food and adding Organic Apple Cider Vinegar to your pups’ water, just a splash in the bowl does the trick (if your pup will not drink his/her water after it is added then try adding less).  We also advise using dog safe Essential Oils for a homemade flea & tick collar or spray.  Another addition to add to their food is Brewers Yeast, this is also used in many products to keep fleas away.

Heartworm prevention:

A strong immune system will help prevent heartworms.  It is recommended to test regularly, due to the worm cycle, so that you can always catch it before it progresses if your dog were to ever get it.  Heartworms typically come from mosquitos, so, making a homemade bug spray to mist on your dog daily, or on their collar, would be a great alternative.  This can consist of Organic Apple Cider vinegar, lemongrass, cedarwood, citronella, lemon, lavender, peppermint, etc.  Another way to help prevent heartworms is by using a product called Earth M.D. DE Plus, it contains neem leaf, which has the capabilities to thwart heartworms [2]. This is because the active compound in the neem, azadirachtin, goes into the bloodstream once consumed, and can therefore directly target heartworms.  Do not let them drink from standing water where mosquitos keep their larva, clean out pools often, change water bowls, etc. Heartworm is only scary if not caught early and treatment is only long term if it is a bad case.  Testing frequently takes this risk away and helps protect your dog.  I have attached some links about heartworm so everyone can have a better understanding of how the worm cycle works.  It is not necessary to treat your dog for something it does not have.  Focus on keeping their immune system intact and chemical free.
